Today, I believe many of us have forgotten, or perhaps we have never known our true identity in Christ? Who are we, and what has God destined and created you and me to be in the earth?
It breaks my heart to see so many in our churches walking in defeat. I ask myself why, why so many defeated marriages, defeated families, and so many shattered and broken dreams, and many who have become prey and captive by the enemy because of sin. This surely was not God’s plan for His Church or for us as women. Christ gave Himself that He might present us Glorious before Him! Victorious in this life in and through Christ.
Christ loved YOU
(His Church)
and gave Himself for YOU,
that He might sanctify and cleanse YOU
with the washing of water by the Word,
that He might present YOU
to Himself,
GLORIOUS,
a glorious Church,
Not having Spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that
YOU
should be holy,
and without blemish.
Ephesians 5:25-27 |
Glorious: endoxos (Lexicon concordance)
Meaning: shining brightly with light, clearly evident; marked by great beauty or splendor, notably or brilliantly outstanding because of dignity or achievements or actions. I believe this is what God wants and needs His Church to be in the earth.
This light, great beauty and splendor spoken of in scripture is Christ in our lives, the hope of Glory, and not just an outward or fading beauty. It is His glory in and through us drawing the lost to Christ.
Our outstanding achievements are all in Him. Daniel 11:32b says those who KNOW THEIR GOD, they will be strong and do EXPLOITS in the earth. This is the Church Christ died for, the one He will return for! Glorious and victorious in Him, impacting nations!
Closing Prayer:
Father, I pray today that you would reveal your heart and your word to every woman reading this devotion. I pray that you would begin to reveal through your word, our true identity in you, what you have truly called us as women, and as your Church to be in the earth. Our desire is to bring you glory and lift up Christ in every area of our lives. Teach us and show us your ways that we might display your glory.
Closing Comments:
You are in my prayers everyday and I am believing God to do such an amazing work in your life. I am looking so forward to what He has in store for us all. His Word is so powerful and life changing.
I've included supporting scriptures for each day of the week for those of you who would like to meditate on His Word. My goal is for you to receive the weekly devotion by Sunday, so you will have it first thing Monday morning.
