Reality,
Hope,
and Prayer
for a Great Awakening
Many
watched Tuesday, January
20th, 2009 as Barak H.
Obama, America’s
first African-American
was sworn into office
as the 44th President
of the United States.
What an historic event.
I watched and prayed
with mixed emotions as
he gave an inspiring speech
that seemed to stir hope
in the hearts of all who
listened around the world.
If I were to judge by
these things alone I would
come to the conclusion
that this is truly a great
and grand day for America
and the world. |
A
Bit of Reality
It does seem the whole world
is rejoicing, and yet, I must
be honest in saying that I could
only weep and pray, knowing
that one
of his first acts as President
will be to remove President
Bush’s executive order
which banned the use of tax
dollars for abortions.
This is one of many acts that
could open the door to more
unrighteousness in our nation
and for God’s judgment,
which we are already experiencing.
Words
vs. Actions
As a nation,
we have honored God with our
lips, but our actions and our
ways dishonor Him. We
want Him to bless us and protect
us, yet we reject His words,
His ways, and His compassionate
warnings. (more

"This
people honors Me with their
lips, but their heart is far
from Me." – Matthew
15:8
America's
Only Hope – God's Way
Many have great hopes this new
leadership will help bring positive
change to America. We believe
this is very possible and we
are praying for this. However,
this can only happen if as a
nation, we will turn and honor
God with our actions, doing
things His way and leading in
righteousness. Only
then can we open the door and
pathway for America to experience
the blessing and protection
of God once again.
"Righteousness
exalts a nation, but sin is
a disgrace to any people."
– Proverbs 14:34
"Blessed
is the nation whose God is the
LORD...." – Psalm
3:12
"When
the righteous rule, the people
rejoice...when the wicked rule,
the people groan." –
Proverbs 29:2
A
Great Awakening
Please
join us as we pray for a GREAT
VISITATION and GREAT AWAKENING
in our nation –
for only the Spirit of God can
touch and change the hearts
and souls of our leaders, and
our nation. So it is important
we pray earnestly...Praying
that our nation will fall to
it's knees and cry out to God
in true humility and repentance.
“Not
by might, nor by power, but
by My spirit”, says the
Lord" – Zech. 4:6
"The
effectual fervent prayer of
a righteous man avails much."
– James 5:16
"If
My people, which are called
by My name, shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek My face,
and TURN from their wicked ways;
THEN will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land. –
2 Chronicles 7:14
Praying
for Leadership
As God’s people we are
exhorted to pray for our kings
and all those in authority,
so in
obedience to God’s Word
we pray for our President, and
all in leadership in
Washington.
"Therefore
I exhort first of all that supplications,
prayers, intercessions, and
giving of thanks be made for
all men, for kings and all who
are in authority, that we may
lead a quiet and peaceable life
in all godliness and reverence.
For this is good and acceptable
in the sight of God our Savior,
who desires all men to be saved
and to come to the knowledge
of the truth."
– 1 Timothy 2:1-4
We
encourage you to pray earnestly
for our churches, our leadership,
and our nation!
