The
Power
and
Beauty
of
Brokenness
Brokenness
is
not
a
very
popular
subject
in
today’s
Church
culture,
yet
when
we
look
throughout
Holy
Scripture
those
greatly
used
were
often
men
and
women
who
walked
through
the
breaking
process
of
God.
They
became
broken,
yielded
vessels
for
the
masters
use
–
like
Moses,
David,
the
Prophets,
and
New
Testament
Apostles.
Our
greatest
example
of
brokenness
was
found
in
Christ
Jesus
when
He
said
the
night
before
going
to
the
cross
"Not
My
will,
but
Yours
be
done."
(Luke
22:42)

We
must remember
–
God does
not exist
to fulfill
our personal
plans and
agendas,
but we are
here for
Him, as
His Ambassadors,
to carry
out His
purposes
in the earth,
just as
Jesus himself
demonstrated.
Those
that will
yield to
His process
and plans
in the days
ahead will
see His
mighty working
in and through
their lives.
And they
will see
the beauty
and the
glory of
Christ in
them shining
forth.
We
believe
God has
been preparing
many behind
the scenes,
that He
is getting
ready to
raise up
and ride
with Him
for this
great last
days work
–
they
will be
like "Special
Forces"
in His army.
An
Example
of the Power
and Beauty
of Brokenness
Today, I
want to
share an
experience
in my life
that greatly
demonstrates
the message
and need
of brokenness.
It was almost
when I visited
my brother
and his
family in
the Midwest.
My sister-in-law
had two
beautiful
Arabian
horses,
and I was
given the
opportunity
to ride
them both.
What an
amazing
experience
–
each
horse was
such a stark
contrast
from the
other –
God clearly
used these
horses to
demonstrate
the power
and beauty
of brokenness.
THE
FIRST HORSE:
Recently
purchased
and not
completely
broken,
known, or
trained
From
the moment
I approached
this horse,
I could
tell it
was not
going to
be a pleasant
ride. The
horse seemed
to fight
everything
–
I knew I
had to be
very firm
and tough
with it
as I had
dealt with
horses like
this in
my younger
years. She
was grumpy,
very stubborn,
undisciplined,
and wouldn’t
respond
to anything.
She clearly
had her
own agenda.
It was a
constant
fight and
struggle
to get her
to go anywhere
or do anything.
If you wanted
to go right,
the horse
wanted to
go left.
If you wanted
to stop,
the horse
wanted to
run. –
I couldn’t
wait to
get off
this horse
as it was
a very unpleasant
ride. It
was clear
the horse
had not
been sufficiently
broken or
trained
–
thus everyone,
including
the horse
itself was
miserable.
THE
SECOND HORSE:
My sister-in-law
had this
horse since
its birth.
She broke
it, trained
it, working
with it
daily.
The difference between this horse and the first one I
rode was amazing. Riding this horse was like a heavenly
experience. I had never ridden a horse with so much grace
and poise. From the moment I approached her, she was completely
yielded to every prompting, was very sensitive,
and seemed to anticipate my next move. I would
slightly shift my body to the right and she would automatically turn.
I really was amazed at how instantly yielding and obedient this horse was – what a joy to ride!
As
I pondered
the tremendous
contrast
between
these two
horses –
I sensed
the Holy
Spirit say
"This
is how I
want you
to be, this
is how I
want My
Church,
and Body
to be, perfectly
yielded
to Me, then
together
we can accomplish
great things
in the earth."

32:8-9;
James 4:6;
1 Peter
5:6.;

2:8
