A
few years ago I came across a Christian
program that really caught my attention.
There were several people, including some
in the prophetic movement, who were talking
about reclaiming the
7 mountains in our culture –
like going into the "promised land"
(see "A Little History" at
the end of this.)
This
was new to me at the time, but I believed
it was of God, because as Christians we
are called to be Salt and Light (Matt.
5:13-16). We
should influence our culture, instead of
our culture influencing us! We are to make
disciples of all nations (Matt 28:19)! |

GOD SAID – “THEY'RE
NOT READY!”
After watching the program, my heart was stirred to
pray and God spoke to me. He said “They're not
ready!” God desires for
the Church to have great influence and impact –
so many souls can be brought into the kingdom of God.
But, He clearly showed me the
Church was not ready to take these 7 mountains.
Something was holding us back....
PREPARE AND SANCTIFY YOURSELVES
Just as in Joshua's day, when Israel (a "type and
shadow" of the "Church") attempted to
move forward into the promised land, they experienced
a great defeat at Ai, because of hidden
sin and compromise in the camp. God then told
them:

"...That
is why the Israelites are running from
their enemies in defeat....Get
up! Command the people to sanctify themselves
in preparation for tomorrow. For this
is what the LORD God, says: 'There is an accursed
thing in your midst, O Israel; you cannot
stand before your enemies until you take away
the accursed thing from among you."
Joshua 7: 10-13

BEFORE we can truly advance and
influence our culture – there is a work that must
be done in the Church, a cleansing, a purifying,
a preparation, so that Christ in us can shine through!
I believe the Church right now has entered into this
cleansing, purifying and preparation stage.
GOD IS
READY...
Following is the vision that came directly after God
spoke and said "They're not ready!" I pray
that God will use it to speak to you personally and
to His Church corporately.

Prophetic
Vision: Are You With Me?
Spring,

I saw a Great and Mighty
Warrior, He was very big and tall, and
fully dressed and ready for battle. I didn’t
see His face as I was standing slightly behind
Him and off to His right. He was looking with
anticipation at a great land that stood before
Him and His people.
This Warrior was God.
He was ready to lead and take His people
into the Promised Land.
He told me that everything He
had promised His people was standing before them
and that He longed to fulfill every plan, every
dream, every promise that HE had placed in their
hearts, beyond what they even imagined. It was
as though He couldn’t wait to show them
all He had in store. There was a great zeal that
seemed to consume Him and radiate from Him.
He then turned His head and looked
over His shoulder to His people and said:
“ARE YOU WITH ME?”
He was fully set to move quickly
forward...but then, for a moment it was as though
my eyes and my heart became His, and I saw what
He saw and felt what He felt. It was heart breaking
and almost unbelievable. It’s as though
God was saying:
“Cindy, Look what
they are doing.”
Instead of His people standing
with Him ready to go forward, they all had their
backs turned to Him. They were about 10 feet away,
and all crouched down towards the ground. Each
person had their arms wrapped around something,
holding it close and affectionately, as if they
loved it.
At first I couldn’t tell
what they were embracing, but God allowed me to
see that they were "idols" – other
lovers, sins, things of this world they loved
more than God: wealth, status, pleasures, possessions,
fame, success, the praise of man, the things of
the world and of the flesh. They had turned
away from their first love and were embracing
idols.
I felt God’s heart as I
looked and I find it difficult to express the
emotion and almost brokenness and disappointment.
Perhaps you could compare it to a husband who
loves His wife deeply and has laid down His whole
life for her, only to have her turn her back on
Him to chase after many other lovers.
2009 Note: I believe God
has begun working in His church, dealing with
the idols, and showing us the error of our ways.
God wants our hearts and our affections set on
Him and not the things of this world. |
A LITTLE HISTORY: 7 MOUNTAINS
We understand that originally, in 1975, God gave Bill
Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, and Loren
Cunningham the founder of Youth With a Mission, the
same message simultaneously. God had shown them, that
to influence and impact any nation for Jesus Christ
they would need to affect the 7
spheres of society – these include: business,
government, media, arts and entertainment, education,
the family and religion. This is all a part of the great
commission – going into
ALL the world and preaching the gospel, and making disciples
of nations (Matt. 28:19).
DISPLAYING THE GLORY OF GOD!
As His people, I believe we should display the glory,
magnificence, splendor and greatness of our God in every
sphere of our society. Not just within the Church walls!
But, God himself wants to invade
our culture, and display His glory and power for all
the nations of the earth to see! I believe this
is what He is preparing His Church to do. And there
are things that must take place first in His Church
– so Christ in us, the Hope of glory can shine
through, and draw all men unto Him!
